A Few Bug Facts:

  • A fire ant queen can live up to 7 years and produce about 1500 eggs a day during her life.
  • A mature fire ant colony may contain 250,000 ants or more.
  • German roaches prefer kitchens and bathrooms. They hide in cracks and crevices during the day and emerge primarily at night.
  • A single german roach egg capsule contains 30 to 40 eggs.
  • DO NOT fog for german roaches, it only sends them deeper into the cracks and makes them harder to eliminate.
  • Fleas leave a single puncture mark in the center of its bite. Ants and spiders leave two marks. Bed bugs cause a large swelling or welt.
  • A flea life cycle takes from 2 weeks to 8 months.
  • After a blood meal a female flea lays 15 to 20 eggs per day and up to 600 in a lifetime.
  • The female adult brown dog tick lays 1000 to 3000 eggs after feeding on a dogs blood.
  • Bed bug females lay a total of about 200 eggs after a blood meal, at a rate of 3 or 4 per day.
  • It takes a bed bug about 4 to 9 weeks from birth to egg laying maturity.
